I'm looking at an A/C. I think it is a 'B'
Tractor No. by the gearshift appears to be E59917 further back, serial number 102261B. Do these look like valid numbers, and would that make it a 1950 model B ??
It is quite complete, but has been sitting for years. Probably stuck. Tires are there but flat.

Next question...what would YOU pay for this? Scrap price would be about $100 or so, wouldn't it?
Thanks for your help.

Jeff,

I believe that E59917 should really be a B59917. That would make it a 1942 B. That tractor is very much like the one I have (ser no. B58812), also a '42 B. That tractor also was supplied on steel wheels originally from the factory, like mine was. You can tell that by the taller than normal air cleaner stack and the wide rear fenders. I can't tell precisely from the photos but I would guess that it also has the heavier than normal rear wheel hubs, also unique to those tractors that had steel wheels originally. My guess is that the fenders, the air cleaner and the rear hubs would be worth much more than $100 as they are not that common. It's too bad the fenders are beat up some but if they are not rusted out, they probably could be brought back to pretty good shape.

Jeff, that tractor is worth what ever your passion is for it. I mean if you are going to have fun restoring it , it's difficult to put a price on that effort.

My thanks to all of you, and especially Rod. You (and others on other forums here) helped me form an idea of what to offer for this one. I was able to buy it today for $150. Once I get it home the fun will begin.
The exhaust has been open to the rain & snow, as has been the radiator, but I'm hoping I can get it to roll over with some patience and penetrating oil. Unless the block is cracked this one should be fun to play with.

Great! Have fun with it. You can tell for sure if the rear wheel hubs are the heavy ones that were unique to steel-wheeled Bs if they have four notches around the periphery (instead of the common two notches) as shown here:
