help Identify this International 340 loader

well been wanting this Int tractor thats been in my freinds shop for years and hes a massey guy and just never wanted to work on it as he has all the massey jobs and work that he needs... so when he gets something like this in it just sits there in the back and usually I end up with the Farmll and International non running stuff...I just dragged this out of his shop today and I think its a 340 and it has power steering and I dont now what this lodaer is ? Round tube style? I have a feeling its a wagoner ..but I dont really know ? Is this the correct loader for this tractor? the bucket tilt is 1 big cylinder in the center..If this is original then is it a good one to use when its working or what? If you odered this tractor NEW then Is this the loader you would get? and is this the same motor that is in a Farmall M ?

It does look as though it could be a 340. In the link is info on a 340. At the bottom of the linked page it shows you where to find the serial number plate on that tractor which will hopefully give you a definite ID of the machine. If you go to the next tab to the right of ..Overview.. which is ..Engine.. it shows you the gas engine for that tractor is a C-135, the 135 is the CID of the engine. The Farmall M uses a C-264 engine. The engine in a 340 is a change over in engine design for IH it is a 4 cylinder engine that uses many of the same design changes IH incorporated into the 6 cylinder engines used in the 460 and 560 tractors that also were introduced in 1958. As far as the loader I cannot help you with that ID although from photos of Wagner loaders I have seen it does seem to be a good possibility.

WOW for a tilt bucket ram, no idea what brand either,Maybe a Horn, or a derivative. No way is that a M engine, closer to a Super C, bored and stroked a tad,It's a gutty little engine though! That pipe loader was old school, that was about the time they came with boxed curved arms instead, of pipes But you got power steering that's a plus but not enough meat in the steering sector to last too long,In my honest opinion, not a good loader tractor.

Hard to tell what the tractor is because so little of it can be seen in that picture. If that is the original seat, it looks like the next newer model from the 340, so maybe 404 or 504. The little bit of bell housing that can be seen looks more like 404 than 504. So with no other information, my guess is 404.

The loader has a strong resemblance to several Wagner models and also the IH #34. My best guess is a U-34, built '55-'56 (not the later U-34A). So it looks like the loader is older than the tractor.

Ok so I agree it is a UT 34 loader as I looked at the pictures... the guy delivered it today and I got the loader off the tractor today as Im going to have to split it because my he said that when he got it several years ago he checked spent a few hours checking it out as its sat for alot of years maybe outside but he sain that as fast as they pour water in it it came out the bell housing so he thinks it a soft plug on read of block...and I have to split it to fix that and check everything out inside there like throw out bearing and clutch disc..and sinces the inspection plate at bottom was removed it could have a mouse nest or I have even seen a snake come out of an olds threasher I brought home so I need to split it..... I do not think its a 340 as I sold the same guy r 2 300 utilities about 25 years ago and they were short profile as I think they had backhoes on the both..and this tractor is not short like them and itds taller ? this tractor is taller I looked for serial numbers but dont see that plate...where someone here said it was? it has 12.2 x28's on rear . I the hyd has a vave body under the seat and the levers for hydraulics is to the right of the seat...tomorrow I will look for serial numbers somewhere on it ..

Jim I think its a 504 with a 34 loader that someone added it on ...is that possible ?..it definantley fits perfect..no modifactions to
make it fit.

Most of the time, if the tractor models have similar proportions and overall size, loaders can be moved between them. It may only require different or modified mounting brackets. I would expect a loader for a 300 Utility to fit reasonably well on any of the 350, 330, 340, 504, 240, or 404 Utilites.

Pictures with better views of the tractor would help us identify it. What transmission configuration does it have? 4-speed, 5-speed, Torque Amplifier, Hi-Ho range, shuttle shift? You may be able to find the engine model cast in the engine block. C-123, C-135, C-157?

Jim I am having issues sending my pictures but I went out there again today and here is what I see...it is 4 speed , serial number plate
is missing and has the standard 4 small holes forthe plate on the left side of the tractor bell housing same as the old Farmalls like H M
ect... {the side exhaust and carb is on } ..... also the exhaust has a U Shape exhaust and runs under the left foot plate ... It was
originally painted Yellow.....no fast hitch just sliding draw bar... does this help?

You definitely spotted the original location of the now-missing serial plate. There is always a possibility that a tractor was put together from pieces of multiple tractors. I think that is very unlikely in this case. From the pictures, it is definitely a 404. It should have a C-135 engine. The absence of a rear hitch, along with it having a PTO and yellow paint strongly suggests this tractor started out as a highway mower. That is probably good news because it hasn't spent its whole life under a loader.
