Help identify this tool

My buddy has this on his wall but doesn't know what use it was made for. It is the one with the wooden roller. Any ideas?

Could be for "Stitching " a repair boot inside a tire..It would prolly be dirtier though.

That is what I thought upon seeing the picture before even seeing this reply, for that you need something that will put pressure on for the glue to hold but the inside of a tire is always concave.

The lack of finish in the middle of the roller sugests that it has been used,My guess is that it is some kind of a Kitchen tool.For what I would not have a clue.

I saw something like that when I was a kid. Local tire man used it to put patches in tires. Not sure it was what it was made for. But it worked.

used to roll seams on wall paper? I have one that is made of plastic and a little more modern handle
