Could someone tell me what this board came from or what it was used on? thank you.

A sickle mower grass board?

I don't think it is a grass board, at least not on any of the JD sickle bar mowers I have seen.

I think?? It could be off, or for a John Deere Corn binder, either on the pickup, or the discharge shute.. This is my best guess , we had a Binder with Wood on it & it resembled that part pictured even with the Reinforcements look very familiar.

I THINK so too. Maybe off one side of the gathering snout. Must have split before all the paint wore off. When in use, that gathering board would look like a newly sanded piece of wood from the sharp, silicon loaded, mature corn leaves passing over it. Maybe even more like a sand blasted piece of wood with hard grain standing higher than the soft wood between growth rings.

Thank-you guys. I should have included a tape measure in the photo. I'd guess it is around 5' long. Looks just like the corn binder board in the picture, even the 4 mounting holes seem to match. I thought at first it was a grass board too, but had never seen one that long before.

How'd you like to take on that cornfield in the background of the photo with that corn binder? That would be job security!
