Help identifying engine

Hello again. Does anybody know anything about Detroit 471 engine.... How hard is it to get parts for this engine. Found a 503 Gallon grader for sale but apparently has a lot of blow by so need to know if I can get rings, bearings etc for 471 Detroit..Thanks for any information...

My bad...the 503 gallon grader I was looking at has a Cummins engine in it ...not a 4-71 Detroit.....I would delete that whole thread so someone else doesn't think that the 503 has a 4-71 Detroit engine but I don't know how to

No need to delete the thread. It is possible there are 503s with Detroit's out there somewhere. And if anyone reads the entire thread, they will see your explanation.

Back again....anyone know where I can get rod and main bearings for f226 continental motor-----rod bearing is .060 --- Chicago place did not have any... thanks for any help

Have you called YT or PartsASAP and talked to a person? Sometimes they have access to items not listed online.

Have you checked with your local machine shops?

I don't see any rod bearings for F226 on this site. I checked MH101sr and 44-6. AGKits lists them but not certain they are correct for you.

Hello again .....Update on the original post I did and the pictures of my engine...Found out that it is in fact a Continental f226 ..

Good to know. Kaiser Frazer Automobiles used that engine also.

Does anybody know specifically what year of International truck or vehicle will have a BD220 engine or equivalent that will interchange with the BD220

Old junk yards just say year of vehicles but not what engine is in vehicle...
