Help needed for JD345

My JD345 18 hp early model will run perfectly for 1/2 hour then sputter and quit. There is no spark. On other posts they say it is a time delay module but this one does not have one. Any ideas on where to go? I hate to just start replaceing electronics as they are expensive and non returnable. I would really appreciate your ideas.

You may have an ign module going bad/breaking down from heat or other elect problem on eng(bad oil pressure sw/float level sw,hi temp sw,either/both can cause cutout problem when eng hot)or you may be overloading/overheating eng due to a mech problem on tractor,best thing to do is goto local dealer,eng mfg website or ebay & get a service/repair manual for your make/mod eng to make troubleshooting easier

What engine is in your JD345?

It has a Kawasaki FD590V Engine. There is not spark at either plug. Lyle Thanks

Did your engine keep running for a few seconds after you shut it off? If it did you have a time delay mod. and it is located on one of the supports for the air cleaner. It is straped to the inside of the post. It costs about $18 bucks and is easy to replace. I believe it has three wires and the connections are so you can't mess them up.
