Help on a 100 inch Ford mower

I need to replace the bearings on the blades. I can stand it up against a tree with my backhoe. I have been told that the replacement parts are different . No seals and bearing , the bearings are sealed, you can no longer grease them. Is there anything I need to know or just have at it.

have at it. you might want to replace the belt while your into it and of course sharpen the blades. most mower you jst remove the spindle and drive the bushing out from the opposite side.

Thanks, I have had this mower 10 years. The belts have always looked good and still do. When I first got it I turned it over and saw the seals were gone. I could see the balls were rusted in the cages. how long could this last. lol I had 50 ft of a 9ac field to go when it let go. I have 6 working tractors and 4 other mowers. Its like a no discharge finishing mower, and behind my 601 Ford it can cut a lot of grass in 2nd gear fast.

Replaced a set of spindle bearings on a King Kutter mower a few years ago. I don't know how similiar yours are to that one.
On mine you had to pry the seals out first to get at the circlip that was underneath them.
I used the same type of greasable bearings (they just matched the numbers at the local bearing house) but if I were to do it again I would buy the sealed type. Partly because I don't think that the lower bearing gets enough grease when the zerk is on the top. And I've been told a sealed bearing will last longer anyway. Sealed were a little more $.
Good luck
