As I went about applying grease this spring, I came to the tie rod ends and found that I saw the grease just come squeezing out. It looks like the old leather seals are pretty well gone.
This is a '52 8n, side distributor model. I figured out how to get the tie rod arm disconnected from the pitman arm, but now, I'm stuck.
How on earth is one suppose to get those seals off? I was able to get the side near the post/bolt off, but the larger side that seats by the rod itself won't budge. It is covered in grease (I've removed a lot) and I looked at the replacements for inspiration, but nothing has hit me yet. Any advice to offer aside from just cutting them off?
