Help with early to35 replacing input shaft

Hello I have a 1955 early model with the bellville type clutch. I need help with the input shaft seal replacement / disassembly. The previous owner went crazy with rtv seal, it was a challenge to pry appart.

I've searched around and watched 2 videos

on the input shat seal replacement,

I got the 2 circlips removed and I used the 2 threaded bolt holes to pull on the bottom plate however it doesn't seem to want to come off / out like in the videos I watched maybe they are a later models. I don't want to keep pulling and break something. Its coming out approx. 1 in with the bolts. I haven't tried a 3 jaw puller yet. Picture of the 2 circlips and the bottom plate.

I have done this job twice. But not much memory of pulling the plate/bearing. Mainly the memory of what a PITA the retaining rings were to deal with.

You have checked your serial number? Past a certain serial number the shaft has to be removed from the rear necessitating removing the transmission from the rear end. - - rereading your post I see you have an early model, so you should be good - -

The bearing retainer is a machined fit to the case and if it's glopped up with silicone I suppose there might be enough to bind the piece. At this point I think I'd get some bolts with longer threads and put good tension on the plate and use a large punch to tap on housing and shaft and see if any gains can be made.

Ok thanks pomester I got the bottom cover off with a larger 3 jaw puller, it was indeed stuck on the bearing on the way out, once the shaft came completely out the bottom gear dropped enough to get the top output shaft out. Now I need to figure out how to take that thing appart, there are no circlips at the back looking at it I likely need to press out the small 10 spline shaft to reveal more stuff.

I got everything apart the early to35 have only one circlip ring at the back which I got off with 2 small screwdrivers. then the small shaft came out, another snap ring for the large shaft.
The small oil seal was mangled and likely causing most of the leak, the spring retainer was off the lip.
Now I also see I need some bearings there is some play in all 3 bearings which might have contributed to the oil seals demise.
Time to order parts!
