Help with Marvel carb

I bought a Super 55 a while back. The Marvel carburetor was missing a nozzle so I bought a kit for it. Well, l managed to lose the tiny wire that clips the needle to the float and after checking I find that it WILL come out if the bowl gets empty. Does anyone have one of those in their box of leftovers they'd sell me and put it in the mail? Thanks, gm

I am sure without that spring the needle will open just fine.

Gary, I should be able to come up with one of those clips. I'll look tomorrow and send it your way on Monday if I do find one. Will get your address after I find the clip. Bob

Isn’t the tab that sticks up above the rolled tubular hinge section of the float that the pin goes through bent/adjusted to set the float drop limit? When the float drops that tab comes against the edge of the needle seat to allow the float to only drop to a certain position. If that is set properly I don’t think the needle can drop out. I think this is right been a while since I had one of those carbs open. The float drop setting is often ignored.

I messed with that some without much success, but, I was thinking it should bump against the deck and it didn't. I'll fool with it some more. Thanks Red,,, gm

Gary I found a clip in my stash of leftover carb parts. Send me your address and I will mail it out tomorrow if you still want it, no charge. Bob
