help with no fire to points ford8n

Installed new points had a 6 volt coil changed to 12 volt coil now getting fire all
Way down to coil not firing when turn it over. any ideas what to do now does coil make a difference or what?

Some times new points come with a coating that need to be cleaned off for them to work

why did you replace the coil to begin with? if it was just because you converted to 12 volts, put the old coil back in. do NOT gaf about the voltage to turn it over long enough to see if it fires.

if you don't have a known good coil, it's entirely possible your new 12 volt coil is bad right out of the box. and if you DO, it's possible too ;)

Title says "no fire to points" That would lead me to believe there is no voltage getting to the points. Is that the case or what is it doing? How are you checking for "fire"?

ou really need to state your situation much more clearly. I can't make heads or tails out of that string of words.
