Help with wiring

Hey thanks for adding me as a member.
My girl friends tractor has a black connector with a 10amp fuse that is malfunctioning. If I wiggle the connector the tractor will start however it doesnt always activate the dash lights or hydraulics. I have not checked the grounds yet but here is a photo of the connector with 2 red leads its on the left side of the tractor.
Thanks
Tony

What model tractor do you have? I'm pretty sure that is not a factory fuse holder so a previous owner has probably done some customizing. If wiggling the connector changes things then it sounds like there is just a bad connection in there somewhere.

Well it could be I got the model number off the engine side panel not the frame. I suppose the side panels could have been replaced?
After further inspection the fuse looked over heated not blown but like it got hot.
I replaced it but I wonder if someone put in the wrong size. Its a 30amp fuse.

When a connection becomes either loose or corroded, it develops resistance. This resistance dissipates power in the form of heat when current flows through it. Even a resistance as low as 5 ohms can produce more than enough heat to burn up the connection and surrounding wires. The 165 I’ve been working on is the poster child for this. The previous owner cut some wires from fuse panel to remove a circuit because of melted wires. I unwrapped the whole wiring harnesses and found pinched wires or corrosion which lead to melted wires.
