Help!

Some bonehead left his gas petcock open. This usually isn’t a problem, but today it looks like all the gas I had in my tank sumped into the oil pan! What else do I need to do besides dump and replace the oil?

Maybe pull the spark plugs and turn it over a few tims to get any gas that may have accumulated in a cylinder. Other than that I can't think of anything.

Don't forget the filter. It may not have gotten into the canister, but be safe and get a new one.

Take your carb off and find out why the needle valve stayed open. (?)

Pull the coil wire completely off if you do that. I had my 504 on fire last fall from doing that.

Yeah I’m wondering that one myself. I’ll get a new filter as well, I think NAPA might sell one that fits? AND disconnect the battery, don’t need that!

Yes, it's a 51010 filter. Not sure about the '5', that might be the Wix number for it, but it's 1010 for sure.

1010 is the NAPA number for the 51010 WIX. They dropped the first digit of the WIX numbers

I would let gas evaporate from the oil pan a few days before starting so as not to dilute new engine oil. May not be absolutely necessary but it won't hurt anything.
