Hemp seed has been approved for laying hen feed. My sister is a grower for the plant in Winfred SD. They just use the fiber in that plant. Do you think hemp growing is just another fad or will it be sustainable?
 
There are a few growers around here that got all excited about it some years back. The local market was for processing into hemp oil. I guess that sort of dried up, and now I don't see any fields of it growing any more.

Back when I lived in Ne. it grew wild and one of my tasks in the garden was to hoe it out of the garden. It grows wild in many parts of the U.S.A.
