Hesston 560 Round Baler

I recently bought a really nice Hesston 560 Round Baler from
a guy that is having trouble with the tailgate going up,
everything works fine on the baler except the tail gate won't
raise. We have checked the basics such as fluid levels and
can't quite figure it out, I have been told it's either electric or
the pump is bad? Just curious if anyone on here has had any
experience with this. I'm new to Hesston Round bakers,
always had Deeres in the past.

Get an operators manual and it will walk you through what to check . My 560 has a broken circuit trace inside the auto sequence box and nothing on it worked I got the manual and my trusty power probe and started the pto then I sent 12 volts to each solenoid on the valve Block and manually operated all the functions on the baler that told me the pump was good and all the solenoids were good : there is a lot of wire and switches on these things and the operators manual tells you where they are and how to check them all

If you do much work on electrical a power probe is worth its weight in gold it will let you send 12 to 32 volts ( depending upon input voltage ) you can ground and send power it will test continuity it sure makes working on things like this a cake walk. Crank up the pto power each solenoid and you can soon see if the magnets in the solenoid is working If the valves are working if the pump is working

Here is the solenoids and a chart that shows what wires . Now you can jump 12 volt power from the battery with the pto on and the gate will go up if not take the magnet off pull the solenoid out of the valve and power the solenoid and see if the spook valve moves

I can't remember on the 560 but the 565 has a manual lock out switch on the tailgate for safety. If yours has that you might make sure it is in the right position.
