Hesston Discbine

Bought a Hesston 1320 dicbine the other day. It has the rubber on steel rolls. Just wondering what everyone thought about the rubber on steel rollers and about hesston in general. I used to have ticor rollers on a gehl and they worked alright but were wore. Price was too good to pass up and i traded for this one. this mower was only used on about 200 acres total since 2005 when it was bought new and was half price what a new one costs. Thanks.

I have the same discbine. Only thing I dont like is the bearings for the rollers are sealed and not greasable and replacing them is a pain. I bought mine rough and rebuilt the bar. Its been a great low maintenence mower that leaves a great cut.

I too have the same discbine. It's a great machine. It's been the most dependable mower I"ve ever owned. The ONLY thing that's ever broke on it was one of the bolts that holds the "float" springs. I bought it used 10 years ago. Fantastic mower and easy to pull. I pull mine with 90 hp tactor. Watch out for the gate posts though.

As far as the rubber on steel, excellent. If got a cycle type 1120 that I bought new in 94 that has them. I run 350 acres or so a year through it,never had a problem. Dry down beats the tar out of rubber on rubber.
