Have you checked your Alfalfa in last day or two? We have millions of Fall Armyworms. They have been finding in Southeast Nebraska, Kansas and Missouri.

Army worms are very nasty. they can defoliate the victory garden in a flash. Jim

Kansas State University does not advise treating unless the majority of larvae are less than 3/4 long. If longer that 3/4 go ahead and harvest the Alfalfa if the crop growth stage is appropriate.

If they would have stayed away a few days longer the Alfalfa would have been cut. Two days ago I did not notice them.

We just finished baling it yesterday. The lack of rain since July 18th really cut down on the bales. Thought we were going to get rain yesterday but it went around again.
