My brother and I share a phone and he knows I like those engines so he found a picture on line and I liked it so I chose that picture for my picture. Also I have that identical engine it’s a 1912 ASSOCIATED 8HP Hit and Miss engine and I have others.

Ahh,
Nice engine. You can pull a good load with a 8 Mule Team.

I also have a 1 3/4 HP ASSOCIATED Chore boy,1 1/2HP Fairbanks and Morse headless Z, 1 1/2-2 1/2 HP IHC LB,and a 1 HP IHC Mogul .
And my mom and dad have 2 ,1HP moguls 1 3/4 HP Mogul ,1Hp IHC FAMOUS, 2 1/4HP People’s Priced ,3HP N ,3 HP Special Electric and a 7HP Fuller and Johnsons ,5hp ECONOMY F, and my brother has a 1HP KA ,
2HP K, 2HP CT1,and a 3HP CT2 Stovers.

That is a nice collection. Something to be proud of.
Those little Moguls are a sweet engine. When I was younger and had misguided intentions of could have bought my aunt’s brother’s little Mogul. Well, that didn’t happen.
I think I understand the “special electric”. In a 3hp that can’t be a real common engine. Can I guess you’ve checked into the F&J registry?

I have a 3hp F&J myself. IIRC I’m the second owner. Shipped to a lumber/ general goods store and bought there. A pair of bachelors had it in a shed on the edge of town where it ran the line shaft to their hobby wood shop. I also have grandpa’s 1-1/2 type E that was on his cement mixer and a 1-1/2 Rumsey. The Rumsey is an odd ball. Not the larger engines associated with Rumsey, but rather a rebranded K400 casting style Stover. I can only assume it was an attempt by Rumsey to grab a bit of the farm market. Maybe to run farm duty equipment like milk separators. Maybe a fodder cutter or small mill.

Educate me on the “People’s Priced” engine. I’m not familiar with that term or monicker and have no clue on the maker.

The people’s priced engine was the first model that Fuller and Johnson came out with after the Double Efficiency and it was the predecessor to the model N between the1 1/4,
2 1/4,4,6,8,and 10 HP
only about 1,500 engines were made.
