Hey, Dan! Thanks for thinkin' about us, man. I'm just outside the affected area, but am still under the do not use water warning. The affected area is mainly the greater Charleston area. Although WVAmerican supplies the water to my tap, it's drawn from the Ohio at Huntington. The water that's contaminated is drawn from the Elk River. I've got a good friend who works for them, and according to him, there's a main valve just to the west of Milton that can isolate the Elk River water and the Ohio River water from each other. That valve is usually closed, being opened to supply either side in emergencies or times of high usage in either main area, but I guess there's always a possibility it was open. The Mrs is like freaking out about the water and I"m like "Honey, there's a dug well just about 100 ft from the house". This ol' hillbilly knows where there 3 other dug wells, too. (I"m ready for the Zombie Apocalypse!) Thanks!
