High Idle DC Case

I just bought a DC Case today.(I will post pics in a couple days). There is a problem with it somewhere. I can start it up, at the very lowest the throttle will go. If I even move the throttle at all to give it more gas, it will rev all the way up to full idle, and if I just let it go, I think it will almost explode. I dont know how to go about trying to fix this. I guess I was thinking that maybe the butterfly valve in the carbuerator for the trottle may be sticking, but I am not sure. I havent taken it apart yet so I cant tell. Please help.

Just a guess, but that sounds almost like a governor problem, maybe a misadjusted or wore out throttle linkage, but really wouldn't think throttle sticking being the problem. could be wrong. Hope it's nothing serious.

Dalton, I would look at the fast idle screw on the carb butterfly. Back it off & see if it will idle down. If you have to hold it down to make it idle ,I would guess the rod from the carb to gov. arm is out of adjustment,or the linkage back to the hand throttle I have seen a lot of carbs they screw the idle speed up because the idle circuit in the carb is plugged.
