I just ordered a thermostat for Case 441. Want to guess how much that little thing was? I'll wait for a few guesses before I reveal the price. I don't want to shock anyone too bad.

If you bought it from a dealer $100 (+/-). Aftermarket should be $25 or so. How much did you shop?

checked out dealers around here and they didn't even have aftermarket one for that tractor. If I had one to look at and carry with me, I might have been able find something that would fit. I looked online and some of the tractor places online and no luck. PO ran without one . Price$115.40 OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!

try the Case board. they may have a better/lower $ option

Probably some cross references out there for diameter, height, style, and temperature.

I'm going to guess John Saeli would have an alternative.

Thats actually about what the little electric one cost for the dodge at work a couple years ago I about fell over. 126 bucks.

It appears to be a 180 degree thermostat. 1 3/4 around but based on what you gave for a number is it possibly an inline thermostat? Napa can cross if it isn't but if it goes in the hose there are other options that cost half that. If you want it to look original your best bet is what you have got ordered but I don't think it will be the same as what you had originally it will just be hidden in the hose.

From yt in 2009 it appears to be a 160 degree in the hose thermostat clamped on both sides of it in the upper hose to hold it in place and available from napa. Just has to fit inside the hose. Looks like it has a rubber seal around the base to seal itself in the hose for 18.49.

The manual says 180 thermostat. Picture shows in-line, sets on the in going to engine part with hose going over the thermostat onto said part with two hoses to hold in place. Would have been easier if PO had not discarded original thermostat. Oh well moving on. Thanks for all replies. Pembroke
