I haven't used hillers before, and wanted to make raised rows. I hooked up 4 for 2 rows off the toolbar. Did a trial pass.

My question is, to get higher/wider rows, how should I space the hillers? Do I make one pass wider, then second more narrow?

Agree with the previous comments. If you want wider beds with a fairly wide/flat top, using the tools in your picture, you will likely need to make multiple passes. Start with the current setting. Then make another pass with the hillers set wider to add onto each side of the bed.

Complicating this is your rear wheel spacing. It looks like they may run partly on your beds. They certainly will on a third pass if it is required. You should set the wheel spacing so the tires run centered between adjacent hills. For example, if you want a bed 24 inches wide with a foot between them, set your wheels for 72 inches (center to center). What bed width and spacing are you trying to build?

One additional thought, you may get more consistent results using all four hillers to build a single bed. Do one bed at a time. Attach one pair close on the front side of the tool bar. Put the others wider attached to the back side of the bar. Depending on various dimensions you picked for the beds, you may need to set your track wider for clearance between the hillers and your tire.

Very nice set you got there .

Thanks everyone for the replies. Discing the ground today. Rain forecasted for tomorrow evening.

Was going for approximately 4' row spacing. The area doesn't drain well. When I get tons of rain in the spring, water pools up for a few days. I previously subsoiled, and will do so again in the fall.

I will definitely need to move the wheels further out. Will try y'alls suggestions.
