Hit-Miss engine

I was looking at an old one-cylinder engine last week. The owner thought it was a John Deere. He said it used to be green. It has an IHC emblem on it. I can"t find a name plate on it. I don"t know anything about these engines but I"ve always wanted one. It is setting outside and is stuck. It"s pretty good size. I am wondering if it is a 6 horse power. Can you guys tell me anything specific to look for and what I should offer. Thanks in advance. Johnny
