We live in a world economy now, like it or not. Not many of us have any idea where our food comes from, unless you grow it yourself or know who did.

I have an HF Bauer portable band saw. It works great. I bought an HF tire changer for small size tires, it is junk. You have to be selective with shopping there. They have some good stuff, and some junk.

Thanks for the info on the tire changer as I have been thinking about one. Read the reviews before and it seems some have to weld on them before they work.

Been thinking about digging a pipe in the ground and throw an old rim over it. Then weld something on to that. Last couple tires I just plugged which is what some of the tire shops are doing.

It's all about quality.
I have a whole page of countries I will buy from -
I have German drill chucks, Spanish wrenches, a Swedish drill press, Israeli carbide inserts, tractor parts from Britain, Korea, Turkey, and other countries, Japanese tools and bearings. Have Finnish , Belgian, Italian firearms, wine from France, cheese from Ireland, pickled herring from Denmark, tractor tires from India, oil from Canada, fruit and vegetables from Mexico, phones from Vietnam, etc, etc
I buy USA made if at all possible and will pay extra for them.
But I concientiosly avoid buying stuff from China if I can.
I hope saying this doesn't cause a big disturbance.

You may think you're not buying things from China but I guarantee, you have, and in the future will buy from China whether you want to or not. Certain things like say, a sink trap or garden hose nozzle, or other such low end item all is made in China. None of that stuff is made here anymore. Look hard at the little bar code tags on pvc elbows, and Ts etc. All offshore made. There's no getting around it, you are buying Chinese.

Television is designed to stir the emotions, not the intellect.
But the problems of the world - and of your life, require conscientious thought and problem solving, not the shouting and shrillness of emotion.
Go one year without your TV. You will begin to notice you are calmer, better informed and have a longer attention span than those around you.
Heavy tv watchers can not have a debate. They can only argue and spew the latest talking points from the TV talking heads - none of which are their own ideas.
If you wish to argue this, first, turn off your tv for a couple/few years. But by then you will have realized how bad TV really was for you and we won't have an argument after all.

I plan on going without TV on the day they cart my body off to the funeral home. I will be a lot calmer though. Lol I expect they might have a tv going at the funeral home with pictures and videos of me which is the trend now.

There are many different tarps at HF, and other places. Some won't last a month in the sun, others seem pretty good. As usual, the cheaper ones are the shortest life, more expensive wear better. I have some of each.

In general, I've found the blue ones at HF to be the worst. The gray much better.

It's been my experience that HF stands behind their merchandise. I once bought a laser measurer from HF. It wasn't at all accurate.

I took it back, and they gave me another. It wasn't any better than the first one. When I took it back, the store manager gave me a refund. He then went to the peg board and took all of the others off the peg.

I wanted one of the big heavy 10 ton porta power kits they advertised but, they didn't have one in stock. The manager actually sent one of his people over to a neighboring town to get one for me that day. Now, that's good service.

When I bought my 12 ton press the one particular harbor freight didn't have any in stock. The clerk went online and found one at a neighboring store. She called them and asked if they'd hold it for me. It was near closing and I wouldn't be able to make it to the other store until the next day. They said no problem. I went to the other store the next morning and they had it waiting for me when I got there.
