One of the last old Oliver dealers in Michigan is either closed or closing. They're having two auctions. The first one is online only and closes February 18. A boat load of parts, but you can't tell from the pictures what they are. You'd have to go to one of the preview open houses and look through everything to see what you were getting. I'd love to have a row of those old Oliver parts bins, but I don't have any place to put them.

I don't know when the second sale will be, but I hope that one's live in person. There's a few beautifully restored tractors out there in the warehouse.

I've stopped there with The Heart of Michigan Tractor club several times for a pit stop when driving to the Bridge Crossing, and in the July drive to Clare Michigan.

That old wooden storefront is one of the last of its kind. The only other one I can think of is Ellen's New Holland in Beal City in what used to be Tillman Hardware. There were usually a few cats laying in the front window or wandering around behind the parts bins.

With the size of the lots I would have to buy so much to get what I wanted that I probably won't buy much.....I guess I'll go to the inspection and look it over......I did manage to buy a few toys in their toy auction a week ago.

I didn't even know they'd had a toy auction. I can't keep up with things.

The last Tillman owner was third generation, and a few years younger than me. Dad hauled equipment some for him for a while part time. It was a good outlet for him, he enjoyed going to different farms and visiting while there.

Is there any part of the Ina Store left? I didn't know if the new building was built around it or if they tore it down and built all new.

I don't know at all. I have only been there once in my life.

I also am a member of the HEART OF mICHIGAN Antique tractor club, I used to be the president, I also started the club in my garage. I don't know where I will go to talk Olivers now. sure gonna miss him. i used to go over and talk to his dad. Ron

Sad to see this history disappear. Too bad it can't be preserved but I guess that is progress.

I thought Junior would always keep the place open as a repair shop with all of his knowledge, but I guess the overhead of those buildings must be too much.

One of the guys in the tractor club said that he plans to do a few repairs in his home shop for some of his long time customers.
