Question was asled if anyone still made a living with these old Fords anymore? Until I retired 6 yrs ago I made a living since 1970 with a 3400 with loader & back hoe--4000 with loader & bavkhoe---600 with box blade--& a 6 yard 1973 Chevy dump truck. I have 20 ac now I plant in oats & square bale for some folks with hoeses to pay for playing with THE OLD FORDS The 841 & 641 in the pictures I posted have been doing the work I finaly got a chance this winter to clean them up & give them the look they deserve but soon they will be back at work. The rear view mirrow is because I have to get on the paved road to get to field & turning around to look for cars is harder than it use to be Also the flashers are to try to keep from geting ran over by cars that thank every road is INDY
Good luck Bob & thanks, a lot of us will be with you as someone said sooner than later

I didn"t use my ole 9n & later my 640 as a means of living but it sure helped with my operations during my 25 yrs of being a General contractor doing many different types of work . Trenched with my subsoiler for running electric wires & plumbing , dug up areas with my 2 bottom plows & hauled dirt/gravel around yards with my rear scoop . Oh I don"t wanta forget the bushes , shrubs & trees I removed with my trusty little Fords . So , in a way , they actually paid for themselves . Boy I wish I would"ve kept that 9n with 8n engine .For these tractors being 50 - 60 yrs of age , they still do wonders . God bless

An uncle of mine made his living milking cows and raising tobacco on 68 acres until he died in 1986.

He used a Farmall Regular that he had bought new in 1927 and an 8N that he had acquired in 1965 from another uncle who had bought it new in 1950.

His "big" tillage tractor was an F-30 that he had bought sometime in the mid 1950s.

I use a 1957 841 power master every day of the week. For the last 19 years that tractor has been cutting raking and baling all season for a total of 5 cuttings on about 3000 acres. This is all peace work and custom farming. This last year I finally acquired am IH 1206 so I wasn't working the 841 so hard plus without power steering and my shoulders getting worse and with the loader on it I was just getting to tired and sore. But I have a boarding stable and that little tractor keeps things going around here. Ripping and disking stalls and arenas, Moving bales and hauling manure. I have a 3point rotary hoe that we use on the garden and for top aerating the pastures and orchard. So is anyone still using these little Ford tractors to make a living???? I can't live without it.
