I can see why they did away with the original Cummins 555 cubic inch V-8 engine, but I wonder why they got rid of the front driving axle?

Caption says "2WD". Did Versatile ever make a 2 WD?

Seems like that front end would drop out of sight on soft ground, and/or be worthless trying to steer that tractor.

Maybe it was just put together to haul to a tractor pulling contest. No practicality necessary at a tractor pull except dragging the sled the farthest

According to the story the articulation joint was wore out the engine and transmission was shot so he pulled the front off and made it into a 2wd tractor he uses it to drill and spray
