Home made wine question

I am not a big wine drinker, nor have I ever made any, well at least up until now.
Not sure if I did or not. I had some grape juice left over from making grape jam. The bottled grape juice. (Works great I must say).
I poured that into my bottle of cran-grape juice. Then I poured some left-over juice from canned pears into that also as to not waist that good flavor. Well. now after sitting in the fridge for a while, the jug has kind of built up some pressure. I tasted the concoction and it tastes a bit like wine. Pretty good too. but now I'm afraid to drink it. Is it wine or just spoiled juice? Should it be enjoyed or disposed of it??

Did you add any yeast to the mixture? All the wine I’ve made I used champagne yeast and an air lock or it’ll blow up. You have to convert all the sugars to alcohol. Sounds like you have mixed fruit juice at this point.

I didn't add any yeast,
. So, I just have spoiled juice I think.

I think even jailhouse houch is sparked to life with yeast from bread. Not that I have any experience with that process personally. There are simple wine recipes on line when using fruit juices.

You need to get some Canadians to provide their input. (I think due to high sin taxes) Canadians make the best (and worst) home made wine. Oh, the stories!

Best farmer-made wine I ever had was some dandelion wine, made be the Grandfather of a neighboring farmer many years ago. Second best wine I ever had was made by one of the nuns I was working for. Made from fruit juice, but that's all of the ingredients she would tell me. She said that wine would cure a cold because it was made from fruit juice. I think a big glass of that wine would cure about anything, or at least make you forget whatever was ailing you.....

A friend of mine made some dandelion wine. I remember it was pretty smooth stuff. I have never hated dandelions ever again. :)

I’ve made a lot of different wines but never dandelion. Have also made hard ciders straight and flavored and mead along with so many 5gal batches of beer I can’t remember them all. Quit drinking but still have all of my home brew equipment thinking of finding it all and trying a batch of beer, it’s a lot of fun. By the way it’s not necessarily cheaper to home brew but again it’s fun. NO YELLOW FIZZY BEER!🍺
