I am about 90% through restoring a 1947 International KB1. I have a Chevy 235 straight six in if for an engine. I am debating insulating the underside of the hood to protect the paint from heat. The paint is Omni Epoxy Primer and Omni single stage urethane. There is a little body filler to smooth out a couple of shallow dents (less than 1/32 inch think). I am thinking of lining it with some self adhesive duct insulation I lined the inside of the firewall with. It has a foil backing that would be on the inside of the engine bay. Is insulation needed? Would the duct insulation hold up? I just don't want to see paint failing over time.
