I am no expert by any means but I think it depends a lot on the total package, not just cubic inch. You need to be a little more specific about brand, engine specs, bore stroke, etc...

sorry about that. it 4-1/8 bore stock stroke on a farmall m stock head to.

Stepped head pistons are a plus, but the m cam and m head are a minus. If you're lucky, you'll make super m power which is 47.

A 264 was 47 tested stock, if you have stepped head pistons and a mill the head 50 thousands you will end up at 52 to 54 hp.

A 264 had 47 HP stock with a super m head and a super m cam. Stepped head poisons, and milling the m head 50 thou might get compression up to super m specs, but it won't help a bit with air flow. Also, a new m cam was poor. A worn m cam is worse. If you want more power than stock, you can't be using parts that are worse than stock ones were.

52-53 HP from a 264 is 400 specs. To get this, you need to have compression, a cam, and air flow through the head equal to a 400.

If you want to make power, throw that m head in the scrap pile. At the very least, get a super m head.

Mine has firecrater pistons, 8060 head shaved .060. ported a little, tuned carb and ignition, with a very snsitive govenor and it will hold 58 all day long on 89 octane fuel.

I have a very nice 8060 head with fresh valve job.Had it on a motor on a motor stand but never ran since valve job.sold motor kept head 600.00 or bo. plus shipping.
