I’ve used my L3130 GST with a New Holland 477 haybine for years. But this year’s cutting, the back, PTO, Transmission and Hydraulics gets Hot. First I felt radiant heat when looking back at the haybine. Then the cutting bar kept creeping up. Finally I noticed the hydraulic fittings on the FEL control were very hot to the touch. FEL is off for haying. Hyd fluid level is good. Now the Hay is bumper crop thick and the temp are above normal. But should it affect it that much? Engine temp was normal. Switched to my IH 504 in the meantime. Anyone else run into this issue?

Thanks

Is your 3 point all the way up. It might be going past the pressure relief. Lower the 3 point a little bit and try it.

I had that issue before with my 305 bushhog rotary mower. If I lifted it to the stop the FEL wouldn’t work well and I could hear that the hydraulics was noticeable loaded so I did think to move the lever off the stop. At the time it didn’t seem to have an effect but I should revisit that. Thanks for the reminder.

Does it have a hydraulic oil cooler in front of the radiator? If so is it CLEAN, and the radiator and any other coolers that could restrict airflow clean, as well? Are the fan belt and pulleys in good condition and rhe belt properly tensioned?
