I just felt like posting a picture of my son's 1949 A puller. He called himself Hot Rod A on this forum. Lost him almost a year and a half ago, missing him a lot....

That is a very sharp looking 49 A. I can only hope my 50 A looks half as good as that. I am very sorry to hear about your loss. I lost my grandfather a couple of months ago and he was going to help me on my JD A project. Im lucky enough to have several friends to help me with it.

do you mind sharing how the side shields are fastened on? im wanting to put some on my a and thats the best looking setup ive seen so far thanks open to all suggestions

Sideshields are nothing fancy...riveted 2 small hinges to bottom lip on hood, then bolted shields to them with small stove bolts. Welded small piece of angle iron to frame with bolt sticking out to go thru shield when in place. Tightened up with wingnut. Just held cardboard up in place to trace pattern...simple enough.

Beutifal tractor, bet she pulls really good. Sorry for your loss. Lost my 13 yr old cousin, bout 7 yrs ago. Still miss him very much.

The front wheels have 4.00x15 tires on them, I believe he used something like Rambler hubs for it.

Thanks Bryan. Unfortunately lost 17 yr old daughter 9 mos. later too so pulling just isn't a priority anymore, but just felt like posting the pic...thanks for sharing the other pic too. Dale.

I know.. With a pregent wife, and an almost 4 yr on the road 130 miles 3 times a week, and I traveling a lot for work.. the thoughts are always there.. I make sure I kiss and hug them both everytime I buckle them in.. and never too late or in too big of a hurry to not too..
You have come up in converstion a few times in the past few weeks... Just because you do not see it.. there are lots of thoughts and prayers for you and your family on this site, and the pulling community...
There are tough spots in every track.. God, friends and family will always be there to help... Pull on my friend.. they both would tell you the same..

Sorry to hear of your loss, remember hearing about it a while back. You were and will be in our prayers. Lean on the Lord (tell him it really is hard to deal with the loss) and family and friends for support. A loss in the family really does show how insignificant our hobby of pulling can be. One suggestion would be to pull his tractor to keep his memory alive, and it would probably serve as good healing therapy also. That is the sharpest JD-A I've seen, your son did excellent work.
