when snap rings hold springs on, it can help a lot
to take the spring pressure off. (and helps avoid
parts going flying)
Knock them free from the rust, and see if they
come off the easy way. (snap ring pliers)
If not - see if you can stick a thin screw driver
across the one you"re working on, and into the
other spring for leverage - then press the spring
down. (really helps to have a second person)
You might have to get a little more creative on
the second one with a pivot point.
