does anyone know how many cockshutt 50,s were made tractor data web site shows 3,974 but the serial#,s added up comes out to be alot more than that anyone know fer sure?

That number is correct. they started over the number system each year you can't figure how many were made by the serial numbers

1953 101
1954 1750
1955 10001
1956 20001
1957 30001
1958 40001

The 58 year was built in Nov. 1957 with 40257 the last number.
