I picked up a 2610D and I'm not sure how to shut the engine down. I'm thinking by pushing the hand throttle all the way forward is how it's suppose to shut it down. Or is there another way? I've used the decompression cable sometimes and pulled on the rod that goes to the injector pump and that shut it off as well.. Anyone know the appropriate way??

any of the above EXCEPT the decompression lever. probably the throttle all the way closed would be the best. opening the valves on a hot spinning engine could be a recipe for disaster.

My 2002 is like your 2610 in that it has a kill cable that goes to the injection pump. Well, sounds like yours has a kill rod instead of cable. I have my throttle set so when I push it all the way forward the tractor will idle at 700rpm instead of killing it. When I want to kill it I use the kill cable. No harm in setting the throttle to kill it if you prefer that way. I believe numerous models don't have a kill cable or rod.

There is no cable for shutting off.. I figured out the hand throttle needed to be a tad adjusted and now it shuts off when pushed all the way forward. Thanks for the info guys.... <E>:D</E>
