How to stop a thread?

I continue to get annoying responses from some ppl that have nothing to do but criticize or impress rather than help on thread that have basically been resolved. Besides ignoring that person, can an administer add an option to delete their annoying comments. This is not Facebook, Twitter or tiktok. This is an outreach for mechanics correct. Mainly tractors? There is always a well known member loosing focus on the main issue. To help ppl rather than criticize or write a book on how smart they are avoiding the purpose of the thread. Literally miserable ppl. Please advise.

Seriously? C'mon.

I appreciate that option, I don't want to call out names. I'll just ignore these ppl.
I know who you are referencing. And you are not the only user that feels the same.
Not me personally, as I just laugh it off.

P.S. if you hover over the username, at the bottom of the window that pops up there is an "ignore" button.
Which will effectively hide his posts from your view.
But be warned, if someone quotes him, you might be subject to seeing his posts anyways.

Thanks for the heads up!
