The threads are good, just my lousy photography. I noticed that the right axle is flush with outer edge of axle nut. Left axle protrudes beyond axle nut by 2 to 3 threads. My main concern now is that I put the wheel back on to move tractor into garage (looks like this might take a while) and I still had the skreekie, skreekie. It sounds just like maybe one of the brake springs rubbing against the drum but I left the drum off 'cause was only moving a few feet. The skreekie, skreekie is still there!
Going parts store & get puller & some good jack stands. John

Seems to me the springs can rub on the HUB, if the splines are worn so the hub goes in too far.
