hyd oil level on SC

Just-in-Case

Hey Guys, I need to know which plug is used to add oil to for hydraulics to work. Am trying to get the 3 point hitch to work again (had been removed). The cylinder doesn't move at all and I assume it is low on oil since it would have leaked out when the hoses were removed and replaced with plugs. Also, which plug is the 'full' level showing that there is enough oil inside. I realize this information would be in the owners manual which Dad didn't leave behind for me. Thanks

this should help

CNT, It does help. It helps me realize that I should have given a little more information. I have a 1949 model that I'm guessing did not come with a 3 point hitch as it appears to be an add-on, and not what you show in your picture. Mine has a horizontal cylinder pushing aft from under the left axle. Your 'full' plug location appears to be on the right side of center, I think mine is on the left, and since it's so small, it's not likely anything else. However, my choice of filling plugs on top is also on the left side and one in front of the other roughly 2 inches apart (working from memory). Which one of these should I use?

sorry just had the eagle hitch cylinder in mind,,my bad here are shots of my 51 "SC" the plug to the rear of the tractor is the HYD fill( smaller one) front is the trans, yes you are right on the 1/8" plug to the left hand side of pto housing bottom cover bolt as the level plug, check this with the cylinder full extended and tractor shut off, be sure to cycle several times to expell any air in the system

Thanks, CNT, I now have what I need. And a correction: your first picture did show the right location for the 'full' level. Don't know why I got right & left transposed. Just age, probably.
