3020 hyd pump splines are getting worn and noisey any way to put JB weld in the coupling or anything else to quiet it up without a new pump? tractor has limited use, thank you. john cummins

Belzonia might come nearer to working than glue but sounds like a bad idea altogether.
Your best bet would be to replace pump shaft. You will also need drive shaft.

Are you sure the splines are worn or is it the coupler bushings(parts key #4) making the noise? Are bolts(parts key #7) tight?

Usually a new coupler shaft will tighten them up but you have to keep tightening the clamp bolts periodically. If the pump shaft splines are worn too much the best fix is a new shaft. That said, you could try something like JB but I don't think it will hold up in that application. You wouldn't be out anything to try it though. The hardest part will be getting the surfaces clean enough for it to adhere.

You can dress the "split" in the drive shaft some with a chop saw to allow the drive shaft to "squeeze" a bit tighter onto the pump shaft, I have seen this work on some very worn splines..

John Deere used to sell a special industrial grade epoxy to use on worn splines and shafts. Can't say I ever wanted to use it on a hydraulic pump shaft though. Deere sold it mostly to fix worn splines and wheel hubs on older machines that did not have one piece axle/hubs. I used many of the epoxy kits on Deere 440 and 540 log skidders as well as few backhoes. It was Devcon industrial steel-based epoxy.

I've seen THIN sheet metal (old tobacco tins) used for temporary repair......which turned into long-time use.
