HYD PUMP

Decided to fix the hyd pump on my MF294-4. Last year it would not raise my 15 ft mower. Had about 800 lbs of pressure. With 5800 hrs, we figured the pump was wore out. Took it apart and Son said it was toast. He works in a Hyd shop. New pump $600.Rebuild kit $500. After market pumps $250-350. Being cheap, I got a aftermarket pump. Wrong pump. Got a second one from a different company. Wrong pump. First Massey dealer originally told me $500. Second Massey dealer $300. Wrong pump. He did work with Agco and try to solve the problem with no good results. Had to go to a machine shop and get a special key made. Then the scariest part was, I had to take the surface grinder to my new pump to make it fit with no guarantees it would work,but it did. 4 weeks later and an extra $100 in the pump I have 800 lbs of pressure. Now to find where the relief valves are. No one has seen a tractor like this around here. It's a real odd-ball. I have the manuals but they're not much help. Sometimes it never ends and no such thing as cheap but I'll never learn.
