Funny thing guys. I was born IH, and love IH but for some reason Oliver has caught my attention as of late. Due to some "horse-trading" I now have a 1600 gas Hydrapower. What is the " hydra-power"? How does it work? Is like a t/a, and direct-drive would be the high side? Neighbor down the road has a 1650 gas but he knows nothing. All information is appreciated.
Thank you.

It works like a T/A yes. Direct is the "high side",underdrive throws it into "freewheeling" when it's going downhill.
Unless somebody has drained it out, flushed it and changed it to hytran oil,it uses Dexron automatic transmission fluid. If it hasn't been changed over,I personally don't recomend it.
They're a pretty trouble free unit as a rule. One tip though, they don't like to turn backwards,so if you're having trouble shifting the tractor out of gear, pull the hydrapower into low and it'll shift OK.

rrlund is on the money. Your neighbor might be a very smart man. Sometimes I think the dumber you are the fewer problems you have in life.
