Hydraulic control on 2n

I have late model 2n. The hydraulic control lever has about a half inch of action (all right maybe an inch). It is impossible to set and maintain level of lift. It happens about midway through the quadrant. Where can I go to learn about corrective actions?

this is fred graves again. it has to be a 9n. had starter, generator (now converted to 12v alternator), battery, etc.

Power up, gravity down, no position control. There are companies that sell a simple bolt in attachment for position control
on the 9,2n.
F04 manual has a good write up on adjusting the quadrant lever.

9N/2Ns only have draft control. No position control. So your three point is behaving as designed. Red Rock Mfg makes an external coupling
device that will give satisfactory position control on your tractor..

This is Fred Graves, again. Thanks to Tim PloughNman Daley for all the info. I have some of the books you referred to and I checked the status on the oil and all. All was good. I caught your thought in the on 9n not having position control. Then I heard from HCooke and Rusty2n that confirmed what your narrative implied. I intend to followup on the connection with Red Rock unless someone has a better idea.
One more thanks to all.
Fred

most all had those items, very short production run during war where they did not. very few differences between the 9 and 2n tho!

Mr Geiger, very little of your message ended up as posted my question on Yester Tract site, but I assume that you were saying something about magnetos on 2n vs. generators on 9n. Thanks for your partial response. You can decide if you want to repost.
