This was accidently posted below under a dumb subject line, anyway... took over an hour with a toothbrush and air chuck to clear this mess. This is a 1959 TO35 tag on the dash, with a Standard diesel

Actually, I thought your last subject line was VERY funny! Even the missus got a laugh out of it!
And I reckon, that's the original filter.
You have done "good" to clean that sucker, without "tearing" the original fine mesh. Well done, Tony.

Have no idea where is all came from, but after fifty years, I suppose it doesn't matter much. Yes nut, there is a fellow in northern Canada going on and on about all sorts of stuff, that was suppose to go in tractor talk forum. He has a broken 1000series MF, so he should be coming here soon. Come on! Fair go mate! Do any aussie bush mechanics own a Bridgeport mill? (I bought it for the weight in iron- back when it was $70 a ton, guy reckoned it was 1 ton, doubt , didn't care, wanted it) it needed a couple missing levers and new belts, and was to run on 440volts, that needed to be resolved! I obviously don't get too technical with it, but it comes in handy...

a bridgeport and a decent rotary table would be heaven, those machines are heavy, need good solid floor under it

talked to some of the oldtimers at Eastec, quality at the plant kinda dropped off the last few years, there is a company that takes old ones and brings them back to spec

At least yours still had the mesh in there. Pulled this one out of my 65. Had Multipower and trans issues so there was a lot of metal in there too. Replaced the filter, cleaned out the sump and crossed my fingers. So far, so good.
