Hydraulic lift---doesn't

Me again. My 2N Ford acts as though it has no pressure. It was working fine until I drained the 90 weight and after refilling, nothing. I can raise the three point by hand and have no resistance. I ran it until warm and can raise the three point by hand easily whether running or not. ALL I did was change the transmission fluid.

Being able to raise the lift by hand is normal. There is no load on it. Remove an inspection plate to see if the control rod is connected to the pump. Move the touch control lever and make sure the control rod moves.

Hello Bruce. I got the side plate off, but there seems to be no connection of the touch control to the control arm. On page 88 of my manual, it's vague. Now, I can push the control arm forward and the hydraulics work as intended-no leaks. When the lift arms reach the end of their travel, the control arm is pushed back hydraulically and the control arms drop. I'm puzzled as to why simply changing the fluid would do this. Is there a spring broken or something else?

agree with bruce, lifting by hand is normal.. just a dogbone that rides on the piston in the cyl bore.. no hard lockup.

see if the control fork from the 3pt handle is moving the T valve in the pump.. mighta come apart.

If you go to page 94 of the I & T shop manual, you can see a part labeled M. Is this attached to the control lever fork (part #53)? it pivots there and that's where I can make it lift while running. It seems as if there should be something to make it stiff.

I'm no where near my manuals. Do you have a picture?

Or can you describe what you are looking at in reference to the control fork that moves the T valve in and out?

I have a picture; now if I can load it. Looks like a spring. Well, THAT took a while. Any idea where I could find or what this spring is called?
