So I can move the three point up and down by hand. What's the first point to check to begin the process? All the numerous bolts look intimidating to start messing with after 80 yrs. It's 1940 9n

What's your problem? You can always move the arms by hand.

If it won't lift anything, see tip # 16.

I have a '41 9n that had the same problem. On mine,the fork that moves the pressure valve let go and wasn't attached.With much
trouble,I put it back on. It has happened again,so I'll try some wire to keep the forks together. This may or may not be your
problem.

Back up a few steps and tell why you are lifting it by hand.

Yes, it used to hold mower up and now has zero ability to lift any weight. I assume I just need to start with the inspection panel and see what's happening inside and go from there.
