Hydraulic oil

I acquired 5 gallons of Hydraulic oil labeled Super S AW46. Part #Sus 38. There are no specs. I wonder if this would be good
to use in the Ferguson system.

I probably wouldn't use this in the Ferguson system. The hydraulics on the Ferguson are using the same oil as the transmission and the rear end and that oil would have modifiers to accommodate the wiping action of the pinion against the ring gear as well as the transmission gears. Using straight hydraulic oil could damage the ring gear and pinion and having just replaced that set on one of my tractors, let me tell you that you do not want to do that.

Just to keep it simple, 10w30 works great. Use it in the engine and hydraulic system. Ive yet to run into water issues since doing that over ten years ago.

You need to use transhydraulic oil for the ferguson system. It has to lube the gears as well as provide fluid for the hydraulic system. Hydraulic oil is just for straight hydraulic systems.
