Hydraulic port

The To 30 I have had a hydraulic port on the side of the transmission that the former owner said ran the trip bucket loader and also from that hat a dump trailer that?s homemade that had single acting cylinders on it he said something about chaining down the hotshitch arms to make it dune with another valve is this port only pressures or can the oil return back through it

We ran our TO 30 on wheel disc with single acting cylinder. It returned through the pressure port. If you go double acting you will need a valve for that and a place to return oil. We had to chain the lift arms down to the axle to have continuous pressure or flow available. Otherwise when the lift arms are full up the internal linkage will close the control valve.

So it?s pressure all the time when the pto is engaged the trailer has a single acting cylinder I didn?t know if the arms are chained down it the lever that controls the arms would operate this port or it has pressure all the time unless the arms are raised

I've operated both a Ferguson TEA-20 as well as a MF FE 35 X with single acting Rams.

With the three point hydraulic control in the down position, with both lift arms chained down.....when hydraulic control moved up, remote single acting Ram would extend.

Chain the arms down low.

Then you can use the control lever to operate a single acting cylinder.

The fluid will pressurize when the lever is lifted, and return to the case when lowered.

The cylinder will need something to push it back in though, gravity, spring, or get off and push the dump bed down.

One thing you don't want to do though, drive around with the lever up and the cylinder extended. That will over pressure the system, heat up the oil, cause the relief valve to have to blow off the excess pressure. Just not good for it.

Pressure out of that port depends on the position of your 3 point lift lever. Up is pressure or flow. Down is no pressure or flow. In between is a good question. Its like trying to hold your three point at a certain position. Basically you are tapped into the pressure feed to the three point lift. I have used that output through an open center valve to drive a wood splitter. The return had to go back to the differential or transmission case. Pressure was great for the splitter but flow was too slow. Open center to keep from continually opening the pressure relief which can generate heat and possibly damage something.

Thanks that?s what I was wanting to check so I may just plumb in a quick connection fitting on the tractor that I can hook the trailer to to dump it

[This is how I set up mine. The out is the higher port like yours, Then the return is the lower one. the case was tapped and a 1/2 inch pipe stub installed. Then the quick connects added.
As you can see I have the ferguson control valve hooked to mine.
Currently I have a single cylinder snow plow on the front, run by the control valve,
When I run the log splitter, I disconect the ferguson control and hook the splitter directly to the feed and return with the quick connects. I have done this in the past with front loaders as well.
Works great, a little investment in matching quick connects to fit on all equipment.
