hydraulic pump 730ck

can anyone tell me if there is any adjustment on the hydraulic pump of a 1966 730ck?not getting the lift i should be getting on the loader.i know on the older 30 series there was shims that could be added but not sure about the ck's.

is the relief in the pump? cuz that's what I'd be checking, after plumbing in a 3000 psi gauge into one of the load lines to see wher eit was maxing out at, psi wise.

With a worn pump,you can still achive relief pressure setting but you won't have any flow.

Pressure = Force
Flow = Speed.

Is the loader lifting normaly with nothing in the bucket,but slows down when loaded--
suspect worn pump.

But I wish we had more information than" I'm not getting the lift I should be"
Does the loader operate the same with the hyd oil cold vs being warm?
Is speed or lifting force your concern.
A flowmeter will give you your answer.

A badly worn pump will produce flow, but will not make the pressure that it was intended for. Yes, the restriction to flow will stop the flow if the pump is worn badly enough so that it cannot overcome the restriction, such as lifting the loader, or whatever the restriction is. A badly worn pump will not open the relief valve, but with the spools in neutral, she will flow oil.

the loader lifts normal when empty but wiil only lift about 800#.I've had other 30 series that lifted much more.the older 830 i owned I was able to shim the valve and seemed to help.i'm not sure about the ck hyds tho
