Hydraulic pump coupler late 4020

I think I put them on dry. They usually go right on.

Getting them off is the bugger I cut them off with an old butcher knife.
 
We always coat them with grease but I don't think it makes much difference. Make sure bolts are tight and that you have a locknut so they don't work loose.
 
Lubricant often will make a job like that easier. I keep a bottle of "Murphys Oil Soap" in the shop for that reason. Then I don't have to worry/wonder about getting a petroleum based product on rubber.
 
I put them on dry too, I cut them off with a razor knife,,If I was to use a lube it would be dish soap..
 
I install the busings dry. To cut the old ones off I use my long gasket scraper kinda like a chisel. I put it against the bushing and tap it with a hammer. Proper use of tools ya know.
