hydraulic valve

Back with another JD 2750 question. How do you reassemble the d?tente on a loader control valve #AW23572? I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the balls back up in the cap! I've ask 3 mechanical friends and they're stumped too. The side with the 6 balls was leaking and I thought it was just an o ring under the cap. Wrong! Kinda wish I had never taken it apart. TxJim, you out there? Thanks.

i done a few what you have to do is full the place where the balls go with gun grease then place the balls in holes .. if you go to jd parts .com i found parts break down under farm loader 260 eaton spool valve

Thanks for the reply Ben. I have just figured it out. A sleeve inside the cap unscrews and this allows you to compress the springs, insert the 3 balls (with grease), and slip the sleeve over them. Then you screw the sleeve back in the cap (being careful to keep the springs and balls in the sleeve as you do it.)....I hope/ guess. Maybe you are supposed to put some thread locker on the sleeve, I did not. I couldn't find this information anywhere on the web, but maybe I wasn't asking the right question. I hope this helps somebody else out there.

Thanks Jim, but I know you would have gotten me going in the right direction. I did finally get a picture posted of the hydraulic return line (ref. a question I asked a few weeks ago) if your interested.

Hey, I’m working this exact same problem right now. Took a broken pipe extractor to try to thread that sleeve out and no luck. Did the plug on the back of the cap have anything to do with your fix? Plus the blow up diagram doesn’t show that sleeve threading out either.

Welcome to the forums.

He might reply but from clicking on Plowboy1's avatar, it shows he has not signed in in over a year.

To clarify better.

What is the model of your loader? Which valve does it have? 2750 is the tractor, which could have one of a number of different loaders mounted on it. Different loaders often used different valves. The same model loader could have used several different brands of valves. You have no way of knowing you have the same valve without all the right info. This is why it is often best to start your own thread with ALL the info related to your issue, then it won't be confused by someone responding to the original poster, as often happens.

Hey Jim, thanks for the reply. It’s a 1989 JD2555 with a 245 loader. The valve it uses is the AW23752 manufactured by Eaton, I believe. I was pretty sure it was the exact same valve Plowboy was working on. Any tips?

There is service info for that valve in the Farm loaders Technical Manual TM1298. You could ask your dealer to see if they would give you copies of the pages (section 70-05-4 thru 70-05-13). I'm not where I can scan and copy it.

#22, in the drawing, is attached to the spool with a screw. #30 should just pull out as it fits inside #22. I am not sure what you are trying to remove. Can you post some pictures or at least refer to item key numbers in the drawing to help us.
